Dr. Linda Shore-Lesserson is Professor of Anesthesiology Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra-Northwell, and director of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology. Dr. Shore-Lesserson graduated college and received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She was an anesthesiology resident and spent a specialty year in cardiothoracic anesthesia fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, and National Board of Echocardiography. Dr. Shore-Lesserson is a clinical and an academic cardiac anesthesiologist who is a Past President of the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists (SCA) and also served as Chair of the Scientific Program for the SCA. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Board of Echocardiography, and was chair of the PTExam examination. She is a board member on the American Heart Association Surgery and Anesthesia Council (CVSA) and she is a fellow of the American Heart Association. Within the ASA, Dr. Shore-Lesserson was the Chairperson for the Cardiovascular Education Track from 2007-2011, past- chair of the Committee on Patient Blood Management, and is the current Chair of the Committee on Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia. She currently serves as a director for the Society for the Advancement of Blood Management (SABM) and she is chair of the scientific program for the NYSSA-PGA Annual Meeting. She is the anesthesiology lead working with the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and Perfusion societies on an interdisciplinary project 'Best Practices in Perfusion Management'. She serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia having served as Section Editor of the Case Conference Section and Literature Review sections of this journal in the past. Research interests lie in the field of hemostasis and thrombosis as it relates to cardiovascular disease. Research grants have been received from medical industry sources and a philanthropic organization. The results of her research have been published in high impact peer reviewed journals and she lectures frequently at national and international scientific meetings.
