Jeff S. Silber, MD, DC, I am a Full-Time Academic Spine Surgeon in the Northwell Health Sys. He is Chief of Orthopaedic Spine Surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park and an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Northwell Health-Hofstra School of Medicine. I am extremely active in educating orthopedic residents, medical students, and chiropractic interns. Dr. Silber specializes in degenerative spinal surgery. He has authored over 40 peer-reviewed scientific articles and has written over 20 textbook chapters on spinal related topics. Dr. Silber received his MD from New York Medical College in Valhalla where he graduated at the top of his class. He went on to complete his orthopaedic residency training at the University of Pennsylvania and then a combined orthopaedic and neurosurgical Spine Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Dr. Silber has the unique background of also receiving a doctorate in chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College. He practiced chiropractic for three years prior to and while attending medical school and is one of the only spine surgeons in the country with both medical and chiropractic degrees.
