Dorota Gruber, PhD, DHSc, MS, CGC, is Assistant Chief of Cardiogenomics, a board-certified genetic counselor, and a clinical scientist specializing in the genetic basis of heart disease. She is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Cardiology at the Zucker School of Medicine and an Associate Investigator at both the Molecular Medicine Institute and the Elmezzi Graduate School of Molecular Medicine at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research. Dr. Gruber's research focuses on the genetics of congenital heart disease, integrating detailed clinical evaluation of patients and families with advanced genetic analyses to uncover the molecular mechanisms of heart disease and identify new genetic syndromes. In her role as Assistant Chief, Pediatric Cardiogenomics, and Director of Genetics for the Program for Cardiac Genetics, Genomics and Precision Medicine at Northwell Health, NY, she oversees the development, delivery, and coordination of genetic counseling and genetic testing services within the program.
